TIPS TO REDUCE DENTAL ANXIETY


  1. Schedule Appointment on the day when you are relatively free. You should not plan to rush in a meeting or an event on the same day of the dental appointment. This can create more panic and exaggerate the anxiety.
  2. Talk to your dentist- You should convey your concerns to your dentist. The dentist will explain you the entire procedure that is to be done step by step. This will help you to be prepared for the procedure.
  3. Bring someone along- You can bring a friend or a favourite toy(kids) when you are coming for a dental appointment. This will be especially helpful when the procedure involves tooth removal, dental injections, etc. Ironically, all these procedures have become completely painless owing to the advancements of dentistry.
  4. Do not google- If you research all by yourself the dental procedures through google, it’s going to give you different types of reviews. These reviews are not always true. These reviews are by layman person and not necessarily by a qualified professional. 
  5. Distract- If still you are not able to control the anxiety, you can distract yourself with your favourite music. You can do breathwork & meditation as well before the procedure if it works for you.
